12:02 pm - Actual thoughts subliminally striken within this otherwise thoughtful entry
Richie Sexson sucked as bad as his teammates last night sums up my feelings about last night's game:

The Triple A Mariners sucked balls only managed two hits and certainly didn't score any runs against A's bottom-end starter Joe Blanton, a fatass roundish middle of the road pitcher who isn't good certainly shouldn't hold good lineups to two hits.

Felix couldn't hit water last night if you threw him in Puget Sound consistently throw strikes and pitched himself out of the game after only 5 innings like Gil Meche always does. Half his pitches missed the plate. He walked 4 guys and only struck out 3 batters. Despite this wildness, he only gave up one run and two hits, and only one guy hit it past the infield: the guy that knocked in the one run in the 5th. This is because the A's are off to a terrible start.

The man relieving him, Julio Mateo, was even uglier than his face worse, as 11 of his first 12 pitches missed the strike zone and once he left he should have gone into hiding, he had fucked the whole game up walked SIX (6) batters after only an inning or so of work (two inexplicably intentionally) and gave up the game three runs.

Now... I can't get mad, because during spring training, Mateo had to leave the team for 10 days after his brother Luis was killed in an auto accident. To say the least, that's no excuse he hasn't had the full opportunity to get ready for the season (and yes, it DOES take a lot of work for a pitcher to get sharp).

Oh, and nobody in the lineup bothered to show up tonight hit especially that black hole Adrian Beltre. Wasn't he supposed to be back with a vengeance after his performance in the WBC? Looks like the same shitty Seattle Beltre to me. Willie Bloomquist got his first start of the season to give Jose Lopez the night off to sleep off a hangover, but was inexplicably batted 2nd because manager Mike Hargrove is an idiot, even though he clearly sucks was rusty and a beat behind every pitch. He should've never been resigned batted 8th. In fact, everyone sucked at the plate, very much like 2005 uncharacteristic of this team. Perhaps they just phoned it in last night got a bit complacent with Felix pitching and just didn't bring their A game. I bet they will come out firing tonight with Moyer pitching because if they don't, someone needs to get benched and/or traded, because Moyer will get lit up at least twice with that 81 mph fastball keep you in the game, but you need to score runs.

And what the hell was up with the Mega Moose? Whose dumb crackheaded idea was that?
